Squad Support Mech-12 Mark III by Hazzard65 Squad Support Mech-12 Mark III by Hazzard65
FINISHED!!!

This just flowed from start to finish. I think this is one of the first pieces of work I have ever done where it didn't feel like I'd made any fundamental mistakes early on or anything that troubled me throughout. Really pleased with it!

Squad Support Mech-12 Mark III "Guardian".

It's a lightly armoured Mech designed to operate amongst infantry. It's standard armament features two double-barrelled plasma cannons on each arm. These are modular and the load out can be changed depending on what's required for a particular mission. It also supports smoke , chaff, flare and drone launching capabilities. It can be piloted or set to autopilot for guard and patrol purposes.

Great work here. The upper body's resemblance to that of the Vulture Omnimech tells me you're a long-time battletech fan. Also, you may not have intended it, but the "eye" sensor and its mounting looks a lot like a Combine CityScanner (ala Half Life 2).

I'm not saying any of this is a BAD thing though. It's a very good design.

I used Photoshop cs3 and an intuos 2 a3 graphics tablet. My advice is to stick with Photoshop cs3 for now if your using a graphics tablet as most versions over that, especially cs4 tend to bug out quite badly with tablets. Also if your are buying a tablet try to get a wacom at a4 size. A3 is too large and cumbersome and anything smaller than a4 is, well, too small :).
